Coastal Interventional Pain Associates Has Joined OrthoSC
As of March 4, the doctors of Coastal Interventional Pain Associates join OrthoSC, the official orthopedic providers of Coastal Carolina University Athletics. With the addition of board-certified pain management doctors Scott B. Sauer, D.O., and Kenneth J. Wenz, M.D., OrthoSC expands their services in Carolina Forest and the surrounding communities. Patients can be seen at any one of three convenient locations in Myrtle Beach at 210 Village Center Blvd. at Suites 200 and 150 or at 185 Fresh Drive, Suite B. OrthoSC’s providers are also available at 2376 Cypress Circle, Suite 300, in Conway and 3545 Frontage Road, Suite 200, in Murrells Inlet. Drs. Sauer and Wenz join OrthoSC with over 40 combined years of experience in serving the pain management and anesthesiology needs of residents of Carolina Forest and the surrounding areas. As expert pain management specialists, they have both received board certification in anesthesiology through The American Board of Anesthesiology to offer the highest level of specialized care.

Dr. Sauer received his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Medicine. He completed an internship in medicine and surgery at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan, and residency training in anesthesiology at Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina, which included extensive training in nerve blocks and neuraxial anesthesia. He completed a subspecialty fellowship in pain management at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Through his advanced training, Dr. Sauer has acquired knowledge, skills, and expertise in interventional procedures encompassing the treatment of all varieties of pain syndromes.
Specializing in interventional pain management, Dr. Wenz is a graduate of Niagara University in Lewiston, New York, and holds a Master of Science degree and medical degree from The State University of New York at Buffalo. He completed his medical internship at University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and his anesthesiology residency at University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia. Dr. Wenz is a member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and he offers specialized pain care using injections, nonnarcotic medications, physical therapy, home-based exercise and more.
