J. Clark Butler, M.D.

Dr. J. Clark Butler is a Myrtle Beach native who has practiced orthopedics in the area since 1995. Inspired by his father who was also a physician, Dr. Butler went into medicine after graduating from The University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He attended the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina, to earn his medical degree. He later completed his internship and orthopedic surgery residency training at WellStar Atlanta Medical Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dedicated to improving the lives of his patients and treating each of them as he would a family member, Dr. Butler tailors every treatment accordingly, using conservative treatments, such as hyaluronic acid and steroid injections for the shoulder and knee, when appropriate and surgical remedies when necessary.

Dr. Butler and his wife, Piper, have four children. Outside of medicine, Dr. Butler served as a basketball coach at Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach for 16 years. He is a member of the First United Methodist Church in Myrtle Beach and is active on multiple committees and teaches Sunday school.

Dr. Butler is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is available to see patients in need of knee, shoulder, sports medicine, and joint replacement and revision care in Myrtle Beach at our Carolina Forest office.
