About
Dr. Scott Sauer has been practicing pain management in Myrtle Beach since 2000. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI. He went on to earn his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He followed medical school with an internship in medicine and surgery at Beaumont Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan, This was followed by an anesthesiology residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. Lastly, he completed fellowship training in pain management at The Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Sauer specializes in minimally invasive treatment modalities for spinal stenosis, sciatica, low back pain, neck pain, joint pain, and spinal pain of multiple origins. He offers radio frequency ablation for low back pain and spinal cord stimulator implant when appropriate.
Dr. Sauer's practice focuses on individual patient treatment modalities utilizing evidence-based medicine and the newest techniques available. His practice specializes in complex pain syndromes and treating patients who have not achieved long-term success with other treatment options.
In his free time, Dr. Sauer stays active by running, weightlifting, and enjoying the outdoors. He is also a contributing editor at pain.com.
