“First I met with Dr. Ward who examined me and determined I had a possible loosening of my right knee implant. He referred me to Dr. Brothers who has much experience with such problems, and he agreed with Dr. Ward's assessment. I was impressed with the office and both doctors, and I am still mulling the options outlined to me by Dr. Brothers.”
“I am a 55-year-old man who was diagnosed with avascular necrosis of the right hip, destroying the cartilage and bone of the hip. I did my homework and wanted an orthopedic surgeon who specialized in “Direct Anterior Total Hip Replacement” to perform the surgery. I learned that after completing his orthopedic surgery residency, Dr. Brothers completed an additional year of subspecialty training in adult reconstruction or hip and knee replacement, using the “Direct Anterior Approach” with his total hip replacements.
I scheduled an appointment to see him and was immediately impressed with him. He patiently answered all of my questions about different hip implant options based on what was best for me. I canceled my surgery scheduled with an orthopaedist at another practice.
In February Dr. Brothers performed the surgery. Three hours later I was walking on my own pushing a “walker” in front of me. I walked out of the hospital the next morning without the use of a walker or cane, pain-free.
Due to the “Direct Anterior Approach” there was no cutting through muscle and therefore no Physical Therapy. My therapy was merely to walk as much as tolerable with periods of ice and elevation. Within two weeks I was walking a mile a day.
Today, Sunday, June 24th, I have been pain-free since I left the hospital and had no limitations on what I can do.
I am further impressed with Dr. Brothers’ “bedside manner.” During my time at the Hospital, he came to see me before the surgery, a few hours after the surgery, and the morning after the surgery. Additionally, I saw him in his office twice after the operation at which point we agreed to schedule an appointment a year later unless I had any questions or concerns before then.
To anyone with hip or knee problems I recommend you go to see Dr. Brothers.”
“I was pleased with the results of my surgery, even though I am not fully recovered.”
“Great doctor. My operation went very well, and I'm getting along great. People ask me who I had, and I’m smiling when I tell them he is the best.”
“I highly recommend Dr. Brothers to anyone I meet needing knee or hip surgery. He is the most caring, professional doctor. I have had the pleasure of working with him all of my years of doctor/patient experience. His staff is lovely also. He is very patient when explaining what is going to be done, breaking it down in layman's terms. If you have additional questions, he will answer them until he is satisfied that you understand. The care and concern he has shown to me are second to none. So happy I chose him for my procedure.”
“I am incredibly pleased with Strand Orthopaedics and the entire staff. Special thanks to Dr. Justin Brothers and Catherine for all they did for me regarding my left hip replacement. I'm doing a lot of mountain biking and looking forward to hiking the Ithaca NY Gorges this summer and hopefully hiking the more accessible parts of Mt. Rainer in WA with my son this fall.”
“Excellent surgeon.”
“Dr. Brothers and the Strand Orthopaedics staff provided top-notch care during my hip replacement surgery in March.”
“I read in the Health Finders schedule that Dr. Brothers was speaking on knee surgery and the alternatives. I was having knee pain and problems walking, and I was already in therapy, so I decided to attend. I was impressed with what I heard and stayed to listen to the questions of other attendees. I got an appointment with Dr. Brothers, and we set a time for surgery. I had my surgery, and I am without pain in my right leg (new knee).”
“I had my knee replacement 4 weeks ago. My quality of life has improved greatly. I am able to walk with minimal discomfort. Dr. Brothers is a skilled surgeon.”
