OrthoSC, the region’s most preferred orthopedic practice, will welcome Dr. Ryan Mathern on Aug. 7. Dr. Mathern is a fellowship-trained interventional spine and musculoskeletal medicine specialist who will be available to see patients in Market Common at 3620 Walton Drive as well as the practice’s Murrells Inlet office, located at 3545 Frontage Road. As an advanced physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist, Dr. Mathern provides specialized care to help his patients overcome neck and back pain and their spine-related problems. Offering the highest level of specialized nonsurgical treatment, Dr. Mathern’s expertise includes the latest advances in evidence-based care, such as:

Dr. Mathern earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University in Camden, New Jersey. He completed his internship at North Florida Regional Medical Center/University of Central Florida in Gainesville, and then he completed his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at Atrium Health Carolinas Rehabilitation in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was then selected for a fellowship in interventional spine and musculoskeletal medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
